ethyl alcohol hand sanitizer to fight coronavirus

When and How to Use Hand Sanitizer

There’s nothing like 20 seconds with soap and running water for really cleaning your hands well. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says that hand washing with soap and water is the most effective way to sanitize your hands from pathogens such as the coronavirus.

However, whenever and wherever you can’t wash your hands, and when your hands are not visibly dirty or greasy from doing things like camping, fishing, or gardening for example, alcohol-based hand sanitizers such as palmpalm™ serve as a suitable alternative, quickly reducing the number of microbes on hands.

The CDC says to use a hand sanitizer with 60% or more alcohol to reduce the number of germs on your hands. Hand sanitizers without 60-95% alcohol may not work as well for several types of germs and may just inhibit the growth of germs instead of killing them.

Hand sanitizer is only fully effective if used properly. Use enough of it to cover all surfaces and rub it in until your hands are dry, which should take about 20 seconds. Don’t wipe it off.

Remember that hand sanitizer can expire. The active ingredient is alcohol, which can lose its efficacy over time. Hand sanitizers can last up to 2-3 years, so throw out those really old bottles and replace them.

Hand sanitizers can be hard to find these days. They are selling out everywhere, mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic. Companies like Amazon have even temporarily stopped shipments of non-essential product to warehouses to keep up with the demand for important basic supplies.

Because supplies have been so low across the nation, especially for essential workers, Trinity Packaging Supply introduced palmpalm™, which is now available to the general public. The palmpalm hand sanitizer line contains 80% alcohol and palmpalm disposable wipes contain 70% alcohol. These safe and effective products are produced at an FDA approved facility and are formulated in alignment with the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) recommendations. Used properly, they serve as an effective tool for fighting the coronavirus and other germs.
